Government are introducing HIPs to reduce the number of property sales falling through by providing information about a property at the start of the buying process. The Energy Assessment in your HIP rates how 'green' your property is and a Home Condition Report shows prospective buyers that it is in good condition or gives you an opportunity to improve the property. This can avoid your agreed purchase price being negotiated down just before the sale completes.
